Flashback Childhood.

We can all agree that we thought this was going to be a cheesy film. I told my friends about it when The Lego Movie was announced and their reactions weren't exactly the greatest. The whole concept seemed ridiculous: a movie about Legos? Give me a break. But oh was I wrong.

Lego Movie is packed with some of the biggest stars in the movie industry today: Morgan Freeman, Jonah Hill, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Charlie Day, Will Ferrell and many more. It's no wonder why the film is so great.

The plot evolves around Emmet, a loner construction worker who lives in a city run by the villainous President Business (Will Ferrel). The city is perfect. Literally. Everybody is friends with everybody, traffic runs smoothly, and the "coffee is overpriced". Out of all the citizens, Emmet happens to stumble upon the strong willed Wyldstyle. Together they embark on an adventure to save the universe joining other characters such as  the selfish Batman and Benny the Spaceman.

The Lego Movie is a heartwarming hilarious animated film that can't resist to throw in a joke every scene. It is one of those movies that one would see on multiple occasions and still laugh every time. The film brought the inner eight-year-old out of me and reminded just how fun legos can be. I highly recommend seeing this movie with your kids or even by yourself. It contains comments that could make a 40-year-old laugh his socks off. Heck, Lonely Island and Tegan and Sara are part of the soundtrack which makes it ten times better. The Lego Movie receives an 8.7/10.
