"300" Gone South

Immortals tells the tale of Theseus (Henry Cavil), a man chosen by Zeus himself to defend mankind against the merciless King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) as he demolishes Greece in search of the Epirus Bow. To make matters worse, Hyperion seeks to release the mighty titans from Mount Tatarus.

We can all agree that knowing that Immortals is produced by the same producers of the action packed 300 gave Immortals some kudos. But honestly, save your money. Goodness gracious I was so bored during the movie. There was little action involved. When there was, it lasted maybe two minutes.

Don't get me wrong, some of the action sequences were, in other words, pretty epic. Yet, they did not deliver the tense feeling a good battle should. However, the golden-illuminated weapons of the gods with their shiny armor made up for the boring scenes in the film.

The gods were pretty awesome I have to say. Every time they thundered down to fight I knew it was going to be cool.  The few action scenes saved Immortals from being a complete disaster. There was no interesting plot to it. It was too linear. I, being a fan of 300, am truly disappointed with the outcome of this film. It receives a 5.9/10.
