A Jam-Packed Cast in a Huge Movie Flop

In Movie 43, Dennis Quaid plays Charlie Wessler, a low-life film maker who manages to get an interview with film executive Griffin Schraeder (Greg Kinnear). Throughout the interview, Charlie pitches out his ideas for a variety of story lines all of which include some of Hollywood's biggest stars: Halle Berry, Kate Winslet, Emma Stone, Kristen Bell, the list goes on. The whole movie contains a series of plots played out by famous actors.

With such an amazing cast, one would think the movie would be pretty hilarious. In reality, the movie was dumb. The short segments were stupid and didn't contain much humor. This was the case for some segments. There were some that were hilarious. Such as the short which demonstrated the life of a home-schooled teenager.

Its hilarious. The teen's parents are discussing how they want their child to get the full high school experience. They throw parties, bully him, and even give him his first kiss. The awkwardness made it to die for. It was that funny.

But the few segments that did follow through weren't enough to make it a classic comedy. The concept was pretty cool. Of course people would see this movie; it has some of the biggest stars in Hollywood. However, it did not execute its key points that would make this movie funny. Sadly, I'm going to have to give Movie 43 a 5/10.
