Here's Your History Lesson

The first 300 was pretty amazing. It was action packed and a great thriller. In fact, my godfather saw it in theaters seven times! So when it was announced that there was going to be a sequel, I was pumped and a bit confused. How can they continue it on?

Well, it doesn't really continue on. The plot of 300: Rise of an Empire coincides with the plot of its predecessor. The sequel gives more background to the "God King" Xerxes and why he is the way he is. And it's all thanks to the sexy Artemisia (Eva Green), the supreme naval commander of the Persian Empire.

Defending Greece is Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) of Athens. He unites the forces of Greece for the war of the century. He seeks the help from the Spartans, but as many of you know, the Spartan Army of 300 is already at war.

300: Rise of an Empire is an awesome action-packed movie filled with many satisfying combat scenes between the Greeks and the Persians. It was epic. The naval tactics delivered by both Artemisia and Themistocles are really cool. There were some parts that bored me quite a bit. Mostly because there really wasn't anything going on. Overall, the film fulfilled the role of a decent sequel. Was it better than the first one? Ehhh, that's for you to decide. As for me, I give 300: Rise of an Empire a 7.3/10.
